I know I have many goals I would like to achieve.
Here are some things I have learned while trying to do so.
Sometimes I have found myself doing things without really knowing why I am doing them.
It seems to me that many of us do things without really knowing what we intend to achieve - at least some of the time.
I have noticed that quite often when I feel "stuck", I randomly take action in order to try and change my situation but without having any clear picture of where I am going or of what I am trying to achieve.
From a goal achieving perspective, it is clear that when this happens I am wasting my time (i.e. I am not getting any closer to achieving the desired results).
Why? Because in order to achieve the things I want in life it is necessary to always know exactly where I am heading, to know exactly what I want to achieve.
In other words you have to know what you want before you can get what you want.
Now that sounds so obvious I makes you wonder if it is worth saying (writing) but it is also very true and very important.
And by the way, how often is failure caused by not taking seemingly obvious facts into consideration?
Very often in my experience.
It is so easy to say "I don't need to pay attention to that, it's obvious" and then completely forget about it when it could be really helping you in your everyday life.
That is why I wrote this : as a reminder to myself and others that you have to know what you want before you can get it.
Happy achieving ! May you be successful.
