About Twiwytii

Why this website ?

I created this web site to write about my beliefs and experiences, about the things I have learned and am learning in life. It is intended to help me focus and remember the good things I learn and have learned while at the same time making these available to those who find them interesting.

Why such a silly/crazy name ?

TWIWYTII is an acronym for "The World Is What You Think It Is" which is the first of seven powerful principles which I found in Serge Kahili King's book Urban Shaman. These powerful words describe how our experience of the world is shaped by our beliefs and memories, our "Ku". I believe these words are true and their acronym felt like a good name for this website.

About the Author

My name is Robin. I am passionate about spirituality and personal development, music and designing websites.

Although I can't exactly remember, I probably read my first self-help / meditation book when I was around 10 years old. I have read many such books since then and learned a lot. I am still learning a lot every day. In my perception, the books I have read served as suggestions of things for me to try out: ways of seeing the world, ideas of how things work and so on. I have then tried things out and I remember and make use of what does work for me. On this website I write articles to remind myself of the things I most want to remember and to share my experiences with others who are interested.

I love being creative. I do so mostly through music. I play guitar and sing and I am also learning to play keyboards and most of all I write songs. I have been writing music and performing in bands with my brother since I was 16. I love many different kinds of music and I find it impossible to say that I am into one style or another. I like some artists in almost every style of music I have ever heard... Some of my favorite artists are Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin, Santana, Stanley Clark, Marcus Miller, Polar Bear, E.S.T., Radiohead, Thom Yorke (solo project), Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Jamiroquai, Maroon 5, Jason Mraz - to name just a few. I have been playing guitar since I was 8 years old. I started singing later (around 17) when one of the singers left the band I was playing in at the time, and I only started working seriously on my vocals about 2 years ago. I recently trained for a little over a year on the singing zone which I found amazing.

Another way I like to be creative is building websites. I am a self taught web designer and developer. Originally I started learning HTML to make a website for my band and then I developed a taste for it and spent time learning CSS, XHTML, Javascript, PHP... Now I run a small business making websites. I also offer translation services (French to English and English to French) as well as English lessons and guitar lessons in the Toulouse.
